Thomas Davis, MPH
Tom Davis assists Merchant McIntyre with providing more than 30 years of experience in developing, managing, and evaluating community health, public health, and community development projects on behalf of 16 organizations in 27 countries in Africa, Latin America/Caribbean, and Asia.
Tom is an expert trainer in social and behavioral change, project/program design, nutrition interventions (including PD/Hearth nutritional rehabilitation, TIPS, GM/P), WASH interventions, child survival interventions, monitoring and evaluation (including quantitative/qualitative methods), supervision, child safety, community mobilization and organization, and computerized data collection and analysis (including Epi-Info and Mobile Data Studio).
Most recently, Tom served as the Chief Program Officer at Feed the Children (FTC), one of the nation’s largest charities, where he was responsible for management of FTC’s Program Impact (food/nutrition, health/WASH, education, and livelihoods), Government and International Relations, and Foundations Department. Tom was also responsible for the overall design, staff capacity building, monitoring and evaluation of all of FTC’s domestic and international food security and nutrition programs.
Tom has lived in developing countries for a total of six years -- two in Haiti and four in the Dominican Republic. He received his Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Tom is fluent in Spanish and Haitian Creole with a working knowledge of French, and has published 12 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, and manuals.
